Tax Tip:
The IRS has extended the Due Date for the filing of individual tax returns until April 17. April15 is a Sunday, which automatically extends the due date until April 16, but April 16 is a Holiday in Washington, DC. So the due date for all Federal returns in April 17. New York State though, has not extended their due date for filing NYS returns. Your NYS return must be filed by April 16.
Quickbooks Tip:
When recording expenses be consistent with the method you choose. If you find it easier to write checks, use this method all of the time. If you enter bills via the Vendor menu and then pay these bills, complete all transactions by this method. Being consistent will make it easier to find a transaction if you need to research a problem. It will also make for more accurate and complete reporting, if all transactions are processed by using the same method.
